Bedroom...voila!

Once the professional painter had worked a bit of his magic on the bedroom it suddenly looked like a regular bedroom. We were spurred on by this feeling and Dave cracked on with waxing the wardrobe doors while i finished off the painting of the inside of the wardrobes. Bit by bit we slowly pieced it together.

Dave unpacks the new bed  a little
bit excited!
There had been many a debate regarding whether we should have wood floors or carpet in the bedrooms. I was initially adamant that we couldn't possibly consider anything other than floor boards as we had been blessed with such beautiful old ones in both the rooms. I was, yet again, blinkered by the image of the country cottage image...Dave was boarder line nagging me insisting on carpets. Never let is be said I am a stubborn whatjamacallit.....Dave one this battle and he carpet was duly ordered! To be fair the thought of padding about on soft under-footing was increasingly attractive rather than waking up and sifting through sawdust and avoiding splinters on the way tot he bathroom. Also we were lucky enough that mum's 'mates' at the carpet shop had some gorgeous wool off-cuts that would fit both bedrooms and cost us a substantial amount less.

We found a fantastic company that makes handmade mahogany sleigh beds for just over £300 for a kingsize - which is definitely our proudest bargain achievement so far. Dave was like a little kid at christmas when it finally arrived and he shed the paper packaging in record speed - and the bed took about 3 minute to put up. All of a sudden we had a painted room with carpet and a bed in it...we had a bedroom!

Not only that but the wardrobe doors were stunning! I was great to be able to actually unpack our clothes in our his and hers cupboards.
So now we had a bedroom. And we also had the start date of the builders!! We had a few days of living in the bedroom...as a bedroom...before we had to move all of the furniture out of the living room to make way for the cement mixer!
