1st September and the days that followed

One exam down and Dave came home and started to try and make the house a bit more organised. I had just started work on a concert that was a fortnight away at Twickenham so it was doubtful that I would be around much. Essentially we spent the next 2 weeks living surrounded by boxes but with an attempt of normality with two sofas and the TV tucked in the corner.

The Front bedroom - mmm coseyyyy!
Some parts of the house are worse than others but in reality none of it is inhabitable...apart from perhaps the front bedroom which needs  little bit of love before we can move in. That has been our first active plan making - we are going to try and do the front bedroom first so we can move in and be settled in time for the main building works to begin.

The Bathroom is actually ok. The bath, shower and sink are all fine - the work and they are not avocado green - which is surprising compared to the style choices of the rest of the house. Having said that when you walk in the is a definite 'wonkiness' as the floor slopes away to the back. This is actually to do with the fact that the rear original extension needs to be pinned back on to the back of the building......we try not to think about that too much! The floor is pretty grim though....but at least will subtly hide the shades of dust and grime that will shortly be coming its way. Oh and the best thing of all is the toilet seat...see-through blue plastic filled with shells and fake fish. We thought it would be hilarious calling it 'going to the seaside' this last about 48 hours until we came to our senses (or actually once we noticed no one, but us, laughed when we told them)

The kitchen is...erm...interesting...there is an gas oven that works, a sink that works and some cupboards (cupboards that smell a bit funny so we are not putting anything in them) Oh and there isn't a fridge so the one I bought from my old flat is taking up residence in the corner of our living room. Anyway, the kitchen works which is all that matters. There are quite a few hidden corners where I daren't look incase I discover something furry and/or dead but hopefully soon they will be rendered non-exhistant by an unforgiving sledgehammer!
