Getting settled in

Temporarily without sofas

Joe Campbell comes over to help us get somethings sorted in the house...1/2 an hour wondering about the house thinking about what we could do, then we went for a pub lunch, quick trip to Homebase followed by a second trip to the pub!!



At this point we are slightly in no mans land as my old flat is stalling with its exchange and sale and we have had to use a bridging load to purchase this house (we had to do this otherwise we would have lost the house) This means that we are a little bit in limbo - we don't know how much money we have to do any work. Also, Janusz (our builder) is not sure when he might be able to start work.

So instead we unpack what we need and mentally restore the building. I begin to develop an unhealthy relationship with home style magazines and the John Lewis catalogue - where as Dave is increasingly discovering things that we 'must have' from the Argos catalogue. We keep nipping out buy 'essential' tools and gadgets including 2 brand new hand sanding machines.
